In that sense, Grey House encourages audiences to return to pick up the clues they missed the first time around, but that could've been remedied by adding a few more concrete answers to its book, especially since it explores such heavy and sensitive subject matter. Even now, there are still multiple things that I don't understand about Grey House, which could either be freeing or frustrating for viewers. In a radical re-imagining of the August Wilson Theatre, designer Tom Scutt ripped out the old stage and added seating to create a nightclub in the round. You get taken down into the underbelly of the theater, where there is an entire cast of performers playing in these really beautiful spaces, and you get a bit discombobulated.
